Falassarna Beach

Ancient Falassarna is located in the south of the prefecture of Chania 59km from the city and consists of 2 large beaches. In the ruined town you can admire the city walls, parts of the Acropolis wall, the remains of houses, ancient tombs and a stone throne, which was probably intended for the God of the Sea, Poseidon. Falassarna is an enormous sandy beach with crystal clear waters.  Enjoy the incredible sunset or discover ruins of the ancient city of Falassarna.

Balos Lagoon

Access with car & Daily boat trips.

Balos is a lagoon located at the cape of Gramvoussa, which is the furthest point of the Southwest Crete. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, with its crystal clear water and the pink color of the sand. You may reach the beach either by boat from Kissamos, or by car through a non-asphalted road.

Elafonisi Beach

Sandy beach, Family friendly

Elafonisi is a tiny island with white sand, which is separated from the shore by a lagoon no mere that a metre deep. The island is less than 200 meters away from the beach and you can easily  walk in the warm, shallow waters of the lagoon . On reaching the island you will discover lot of tiny beaches on its south coast.

The sand in Elafonissi is white, but in many places it has a pinkish from the thousands of broken shells it contains. The limpid, blue-green waters color will remind you of an exotic paradise.

Samaria Gorge

MonasteryWhite Mountains’ National Park is the only national park in Crete. It centres around the Samariá gorge, at an altitude of 1,200m and continues down to Ayia Rouméli, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Along with the surrounding slopes and a number of smaller gorges branching off from it, Samaria Gorge forms the whole of the area designated as a national park, a status that offers protection to over 450 species of plant and animal, 70 of which are endemic to Crete.

The Orthdox Academy of Crete is located next to the historical monastery of Gonia, which is a modern Conference  Center. The Academy hosts conferences of local, national and international interest.
